Social Housing
Excitement and passion to pursue seldom explored aspects of architecture and the built environment, took the founders of ‘Inspiration’ into several uncharted territories. Choosing to stay rooted in native soil and working through the last 30 years, our aim has always been to be able to respond to all sections of the society.
We believe that ‘Indianness’ in architecture is brought about, not just by building aesthetic marvels, but by being able to tackle real issues faced by people. In this, we didn’t have any conflict that path shown by architect Laurie Baker (who we have had personal contact with) and others, who aspire to combine aesthetics, ecology sensitivity, affordability, strength, comfort and convenience as a balanced whole.
While our eco-resorts, campuses and houses celebrate the rustic yet contemporary ambience with the comforts / luxury of the highest standards, we have at the same time tried to balance our commitment to affordable housing.

Grow it.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Bamboo and Prefab Buildings
With its abundant rainfall and sunny climate, the state of Kerala where Inspiration’s practice is based, has an enriched tradition of building with wood.
Being perhaps the ONLY building materials that sequester CO2 in their production (as against all conventional materials such as cement, steel, glass and metals which let out large quantities of CO2 in their production and transportation), wood and bamboo are now touted as building materials for the future world over.
Inspiration with its network partners Mr Vilas Gore, M/s KONBAC and M/s JANS Bamboo Products Pvt Ltd, have been working on developing several combinations of prefabricated building components making optimum use of bamboo along with minimal steel, RCC, treated plantation wood and roofing sheet panels to pre-fabricate entire buildings, transport to the site and assemble the structure in as short a span as 2-3 weeks. Such prefabricated bamboo structures can be comparable to contemporary concrete buildings in strength, functionality and aesthetics at comparable or lesser costs, at up to 2/3rd saving on in situ construction time.
Holiday homes of repetitive designs, mass housing projects, buildings having large number of repetitive components including godowns, work sheds, multi storied buildings etc. can all take advantage of these innovations.
